Dil ki dua

English Translation of the poem:

how much more will you torture this heart?

aren't these wounds enough?

this is also vulnerable.

then, why its happiness is snatched away?

this is also innocent.

why doesn't it have the right to be content?

why do you break this fragile glass like heart

everyday?

and why only give it as much glue to bind itself 

enough only to be broken once more?

oh dear god, why did you make this heart so tender 

that it feels deeply for whoever and whenever?

this heart always has put others before it.

why does it soulfully loves its own so much so that 

when its own betray it, its love for them never lessens?

oh lord please bestow your grace to this heart,

god promise, lifelong i'll be gratefull to you.

this heart has now come to your doorstep oh creator,

and has spread itself like a shawl begging for happiness

in hope that no one returns empty from the house of the celestial being.

tend this heart almighty, for the scar is too deep.

blossom flowers of bliss and pause the sorrow for a while.

this is the only prayer this heart has,

on listening to this plea, kindly don't disregard it.
